The Gavil Group had started its foray into student accommodation in the late 1980s following the relaxation of Rental Control under the Housing Acts.
Whilst these roots originally served students at Kingston Polytechnic, it recognised demand for student accommodation in Epsom for students at the University for the Creative Arts. As a consequence, it converted a redundant dairy building at Woodcote Side into 60 student rooms.

The University expressed an interest in further accommodation and we were able to assemble a site immediately adjacent to their Campus in Heathcote Road. Wilberforce Court comprises 12 cluster flats with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities and was let to the UCA on a long lease.
