4 apartments and a commercial unit
Gavil Group has completed the remodelling of its headquarters building in Walton on the Hill. Rebranded as Woodcote Mews, the office element has moved to the top floor allowing the conversion of the ground and first floors into luxury apartments. Group Interior Designer, Debbie Yarnell comments’, “The offices feel much brighter and more spacious now and the flats have turned out to be really popular. Three out of the four are already under offer within one month of Kennedys’ marketing launch. There are so few flats in Walton on the Hill at sensible prices.” Group Chairman Martin Morris adds’, “My Dad moved his office from North Cheam to this site in 1969 so we are starting to get the hang of life in Walton on the Hill! In the early days the attraction was the yard and workshop at the rear (and wonderful pub and restaurant opposite!) but, as the need for storage became less of a priority, it was clear we could make better use of the space. I hope my Dad would be proud of what we have done on his “hallowed ground”. He really did enjoy coming to work in the village and contributing to the local community. It was recently short listed in an awards ceremony as one of the best examples of the conversion of a redundant building in the South East. The state-of-the-art student accommodation is set out in 14 cluster flats. Each room is at least 12.5 square metres in size and features an en suite shower room. Students share contemporary kitchen and lounge facilities in each flat. “The use of colour splashes in the common parts give the building a ‘contemporary designer feel’,” says group interior designer Debbie Yarnell.
